Margot Fitted Waistcoat in brown herringbone by The House of Foxy.
The Margot Waistcoat is part of The House of Foxy’s made to order tailoring range. Its design is inspired by images and true vintage patterns from the 1940s. It is exquisitely made – as you would expect – with high quality wool fabric, and fully lined with a luxurious silk-look fabric. I am wearing my usual House of Foxy size 8 and it fits beautifully, which is a relief considering my long torso.
It features a small breast ticket pocket, a rear cinch buckle and a small House of Foxy logo tag stitched into the side seam at the waist (I know not everyone is a fan of this, so I thought I’d mention it – you can see it in the picture below).
During the past few months as Melbourne continues in and out of Lockdown, I have been amusing myself creating fun Autumnal layered outfits – my current favourite Margot Waistcoat combinations include the Knock Out Knickerbockers from Emmy Design Sweden for a tweedy homage to everyone’s favourite celestial dads (I’m talking about Good Omens‘ Aziraphale & Crowley, obviously) and The House of Foxy’s own Whirlaway Skirt in the same brown herringbone fabric for a 1940s skirt suit silhouette worthy of Betty Bacall herself.
For Australians, you can pre-order this waistcoat in your size through Melbourne-based stockist Call Me Valerie. If you ask her nicely, Valerie might be able to place a Special Order for other pieces from House of Foxy’s tailored range.
