Luxe New York Heels in black by Charlie Stone
When I saw – a while ago now – that Charlie Stone’s vegan options had extended to include their Luxe Heels, I was very keen to add some dressier footwear to my wardrobe. I had a number of reproduction vintage lace-up boots and oxford type heels, but nothing that would suit a night at the MSO or the Regent Theatre. Melbourne was in its first or second Lockdown and dreaming of attending glamorous events was keeping me chipper.
When I ordered these slinky black heels, I had a little pang of guilt – they are undeniably high quality, elegant, dressy heels for when a pair of black Oxfords just won’t do… but how often would I really wear them? The answer: constantly. They pair beautifully with my fancier evening wear, such as Emmy Design Sweden’s deco style Glorious Gladrags Dress, the House of Foxy’s 1930s inspired Evelyn Dress, but work just as well with my collection of day dresses, skirts and trousers. Despite there being no MSO performances (yet) I have worn them for hot chocolate and cake at Brunetti more than once this year (when we were allowed to of course). There hasn’t been an opportunity to shoot them out in the world yet, but once we’re out of restrictions there will be plenty!
As I mentioned, these heels are part of Charlie Stone’s vegan range, with faux patent details on a faux suede, and the elegant vintage curved heel that I adore so much. I have found that these Luxe New York heels were a slightly better fit out of the box compared to my Luxe Roma Heels, but are essentially the same fit.
