Film Noir Dressing Robe in Emmy Pink by Emmy Design Sweden.
Why shouldn’t rest days be glamorous too? A beautiful blush pink silky satin robe with 1940s puff sleeves and deep front pockets, this is a warmer weather alternative to Emmy’s long sleeve boudoir robes. It comes in a range of colours including midnight blue, blue & white grandpa stripe, golden yellow, sky blue and this Emmy pink. I have had an aversion to the colour pink for a solid two decades, however, thanks to Emmy Design Sweden this soft 1930s blush pink has slowly wound itself around my heart and into my wardrobe.
This is not just a flimsy, ‘throw over your underpinnings for a few minutes while you get ready’ dressing gown. What you don’t see in pictures is that there is quite a substantial amount of tailoring and construction hidden on the inside of the robe. It is thicker than it appears, and has a wonderfully comforting weight to it with a thick opaque lining – perfect for milder days spent relaxing at home.
The robe is fastened with two buttons on the waistline, leaving you feeling secure and ‘dressed’ if you are working in the home office or enjoying the sunshine in your garden. There is roughly one inch of room in the waist on me once buttoned, and no stretch to the fabric, so do make sure you check your waist measurements closely! A tasseled sash belt and belt loops allow the robe to be worn looser and unbuttoned as well.
Soft, elegant, cosy and simply beautiful to wear, this ankle length dressing gown is perfect for wearing over your underpinnings as you sit at your vanity conquering your morning brushout, or for restful self-care days spent lounging on the couch with tea and a book while an Ella Fitzgerald record plays in the background. Vintage bliss.
