Evelyn Dress in blush pink by The House of Foxy.
I bought this dress to celebrate the one year anniversary of life with my pacemaker – Evelyn. I wanted to take a series of photos to commemorate the occasion, and decided what better outfit than this stunning late 1930s inspired Evelyn dress in blush pink viscose crepe? According to the House of Foxy website, the dress was designed drawing inspiration from an original true vintage dress in their archives, original 1930s patterns and photographs from the era.
The dress is fully lined, features authentic, billowy bishop sleeves, and beautiful shirring detail around the bust. I am not the best model to demonstrate the shirring in all its beauty as my bust measurements run a bit smaller than the dress’ measurements. Check out their Lookbook and Instagram page for images more representative of how the bust section looks!
I purchased the size 8 – House of Foxy’s smallest size which is a bit large on me in the bust and waist in both their blouses and dresses, as my body hasn’t bounced back from its underweight pre-surgery size as well as expected. I would say that given my measurements and the measurements in the House of Foxy size guide that this dress runs true to size, so please keep that in mind when viewing my gallery.
I really love this dress. I love the floaty drape of the fabric and the dramatic sleeves. The attention to detail is beautiful, the silhouette elegant and delicate, perfectly evoking the romance of the Golden Age of Hollywood. It will be perfect for special occasions and nights at the theatre!
